Level 1 Service (Playing Condition including Chemical Clean)

Dismantle instrument
Detergent pre-wash
Chemical clean
Remove accessible dents
Polish tuning slides to remove corrosion and oxide deposits
If necessary, replace valve stop-arm bumpers
Re-string valve rotors
Vacuum or pressure test tuning slides
Reform mouthpiece shank
Polish mouthpiece with tarnish-inhibiting silver polish
Assemble and play test instrument
Clean instrument case

Level 2 Service

All of the work detailed in the Level 1 Service (Playing Condition and Chemical Clean) as well as:
With silver plated instruments: Hand polish instrument with tarnish-inhibiting silver polish
With lacquered instruments: Buff, polish, and spot lacquer areas where lacquer has worn or surface has corroded and hand polish all lacquered surfaces with lacquer polish.

Level 3 Service (Complete Overhaul)

Dismantle instrument
Detergent pre-wash
Chemical clean remove all dents and other surface blemishes
Polish tuning slides to remove corrosion and oxide deposits
Replace valve stop-arm bumpers
Restring valve rotors
Vacuum or pressure test tuning slides
Reform mouthpiece shank
Polish mouthpiece with tarnish-inhibiting silver polish
Remove all old lacquer
Buff and polish all body parts
Degrease body parts
Re-lacquer instrument with epoxy oven-baked instrument lacquer (or to customer’s specifications)
In the case of silver plated instruments, prepare the instrument for re-plating.
